Dishwasher Repair

The dishwasher is probably the home appliance that is subjected to the most abuse. Although we love them, we put all manner of horrible dirt and food-waste into them. How many of us can honestly say that we completely clear food-debris, oils and fats off our dishes before we place them in our precious dishwasher?

The dishwasher is a luxury that we could live without, but who wants to? When you consider the alternative of repeatedly plunging your hands into dirty and greasy water, to wash dishes manually, the sooner a broken dishwasher is fixed, the better. Thank goodness for fast and efficient appliance repair companies like Dylan’s Appliance Repair.

What can go wrong with my dishwasher?

Let’s have a look at some of the more common problems you can have with your dishwasher.

It Doesn’t Clean Properly

This is probably your fault for not rinsing the dishes properly before loading them into the machine. It could also be that the machine is overloaded.

It Simply Won’t Work

If your dishwasher is making strange noises, or won’t work at all, it’s probably time to make an appointment with Dylan’s Appliance Repair.

It Doesn’t Fill to the Right Level

Check that the door lock is fully engaged. If it isn’t, the machine will not fill up. If the door lock is fully engaged, there could be a blockage somewhere, or it could be another problem completely. It’s time to call in an expert.

There’s too Much Water

This is normally a sign that there’s a problem with the float switch, the timer, or the inlet valve. These sorts of problems are usually beyond a DIY fix. Call us.

The Water isn’t Draining Away

Try checking that the drain isn’t blocked. If you still have the problem, check the filter. It might need cleaning or replacing. If that doesn’t do it, make an appointment for one of our technicians to take a look at it.

Check that the door seal is clean, seated correctly and undamaged. You may want to reduce the load as well. If that doesn’t work, we’re happy to take a look.

The Door Won’t Latch

Dishwashers are designed not to run if the door isn’t closed completely. If it refuses to close, check the door seal for damage or debris that might be holding it open. If that still doesn’t fix it, call us.

It’s Noisier than Normal

If it’s sounding like a marching band or is making sounds that it doesn’t normally make, call us to make an appointment.

We are the Best Repair and Service Company in Covington, Kentucky

Remember that a dishwasher is a device that is full of water whilst having electricity pushed through it. That’s not a great combination. Therefore, you should approach any consideration of attempting a DIY fix with extreme caution. Clean the filters and check the door seals, but leave it at that. You could end up with a nasty shock.
